The rally school is located between Swindon and Cirencester, approx. 20 minutes off Junction 15 of the M4 and approx. 25 minutes off Junction 11a of the M5. Click here for a location map.
GwynneSPEED Full-Day Rally Experience
Upon arrival, we will furnish you with tea & coffee and introduce you to our team of expert rally staff. All GwynneSpeed staff are involved in either National or International rallying so should you have any questions about any aspect of rallying, please do not hesitate to ask.
You will then be given a briefing which will cover the safety aspects as well as an introduction into some of the techniques that you will be taught.
The entire morning session consists of practice laps where you will be trying out new driving styles such as:
- Controlled power slides
- Correct use of the handbrake
- Correct use of the throttle to control over & under steer
You will also be introduced to some simple pace notes such as:

Don't panic – this may seem totally foreign at the moment but it will make perfect sense by the end of your experience day!
After lunch comes the part of the course where you can put all your newly found skills into practice – but remember to keep it tidy & accurate to avoid conceding any penalty points. Your instructor will be encouraging you to brake later (but not too late!), work harder to make the car slide around that tightening 90 degree bend & concentrate hard on the brake-turn-power technique to enable you to take even the most demanding corners at an incredibly intense pace!
At the end of the timed session, the stage times will be processed. Whilst you wait anxiously to see who has won, your instructor will take to the driving seat and take you out for a White Knuckle Passenger Ride (and yes, you will have white knuckles!!). You will be astounded at how easily they flick the car into the corners & how incredibly late they are braking! Hold on...
